Sarah MartinI am mother to four children and the wife of one man.  I love spending time with my family.  Next to God, my family is the most important thing in my life.  I strive to meet their needs and help them thrive.

My family is vegetarian with dairy allergies.  My husband inherited diabetes and my five-year-old son needs a special low carbohydrate, high protein and oil (the healthy kind) diet.  When it comes to meal time I have been learning to be creative.  What my son needs isn’t what my husband needs and vice versa!

We believe in quality food.  We prefer to eat organic, gluten-free, and sugar-free.  As a rule, we do not use any refined sugar in our home (though a time or two it may have slipped in for a special occasion…).  We avoid dairy products, but eat eggs.  Especially, the kids.  My husband and I have bodies that thrive on a vegan/plant based diet.   My husband needs low-oil and the kids need oil.  As time goes by, I’d like to share with you some of my food creations and how I adapt my meals and recipes to cover everyone’s needs.

We eat lots of vegetables in our house!  We did not always eat this way; however, this has become our lifestyle and something we will continue for life.  We’ve tried to make our diet our medicine. We believe that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.  Because breakfast is so important, we might as well eat the most healing and nutritious food for it.  Yes, we eat vegetables for breakfast!  Many days we eat them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
